I am a Programmer/Analyst by trade. I have been using the Internet since before most of you. I was in the military and used it back when the general public didn't have access.

I have had a web site of my own in one form or another, and in one place or another since 1995. However, I settled on the basic format you are looking at in August 1997.

I am an avid car lover. This is one of the reasons I have two car related articles every month. If I won the lottery I would quit my job and start working in the automotive industry.

In the mean time I am a programmer. I currently program in Visual Basic 6. I was the "acting" DBA for five years. My primary responsibilities are for an Oracle 8i server, and we are migrating off an HP mainframe system to Oracle 10g. I have so much work to do as part of our migration, but I need to learn web development using Microsoft's .Net Framework, specifically Visual Basic .Net. I am bucking for a promotion to Senior Programmer/Analyst and must be able to perform web development to get that title. Most of the web sites my company has are written in VB .Net, and when the HP roles out the door my VB 6 code base will become the legacy system. It's time to learn something new.
